REVIEW: REAL TECHNIQUES MIRACLE COMPLEXION SPONGE

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

If I'm completely honest, I've never really been one for sponges. Something about sponges always reminds me of being in school with my Dream Matte mouse foundation and purple eyeshadow. However that being said when the Beauty Blender come out and the Real Techniques sponge, the world of makeup sponges changed- it's safe to say they've really upped their game.

I can't give much of an opinion on the Beauty Blender, as I've only tried the micro mini Beauty Blender for my concealer. However The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, I have been a fan of since the day they first arrived in boots. The sponge is designed to be used damp or dry. I personally use it damp to help blend and buff in my foundation. One end is domed, making all over application easier, the other side is flat, which I think works for larger areas. Then there is a tip which is great for under the eyes or around the nose, basically all the little nooks and crannies. I love wetting the sponge and applying my foundation by tapping the sponge over my skin until I get the coverage I desire. Whenever I use the sponge I feel like I get a natural, dewy finish and I always find my foundation feels lighter on my skin.  The only cons for me is that the sponge is an orange colour which is easily stained by foundation, I wish they would do a darker colour. Also whenever I clean my sponge the foundation really clings to the sponge, however that is kind of expected considering it is a sponge and they tend to hold water/product. Apart from the two things I just mentioned I can't fault it. This is my 5th sponge I have purchased from Real Techniques and I brought the double pack for £9.99 so I already have my next one. I will continue using this sponge to apply my base until I find something  better, If there is something that works bette , should I say.
