REVIEW: LOREAL CUSHION NUDE MAGIQUE

L'OREAL CUSHION NUDE MAGIQUE

I must admit I'm guilty of falling for all the latest beauty trends and purchasing something just because it is the current hype. I must also admit 9 times out of 10 the product isn't worth all the hype. That being said, I defiantly think this product is worth the hype. I've been a hardcore fan of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation for along as I can remember. However although I do still love BHMF, Loreal Cushion Nude Magique has taken over, I've been reaching for it everyday.

The foundation retails at £14.99 which is a little more pricey for a drugstore foundation, I'd say almost bordering more on the high end side when it comes to price. However I think it's worth every penny. The foundation gives the most beautiful glow whilst still covering blemishes, it also has light coverage but can easily be built up to a medium-high coverage without comprising the natural look and feel to the foundation. I wouldn't recommend using the puff provided with the foundation, I use a damp Real Techniques sponge and it blends seamlessly.

The foundation is small and compact, making it easy to carry around in your makeup bag. The only thing I don't like is not knowing how much product is left and also that it is not the easiest product to keep clean. However I'm obsessed with the way it looks on my skin, it's the best my skin has looked in a very long time. The only other problem I have with this foundation is the colour range. Usually Loreal have a great range of colours, however the range is smaller when it comes to this foundation and also the palest shade "Porcelain" is still slightly to dark for my skin. I am extremely pale though, as pale as a piece of paper! I tend to have this problem with 99% of drugstore foundations and it's something I have come to live with.

I apply a thin layer of the foundation with a damp Real Techniques sponge and let it sit for a minute, I then go back in with another thin layer. I then use the Nars Creamy Concelear under my eyes and then top it off by pressing Laura Merciers Translucent Powder into my skin and I'm obsessed with this little combination of products. I'm giving this product ***** 5 stars out of 5, my skin has never looked better.

REVIEW: CLINIQUE TAKE THE DAY OFF

Okay so quick little ramble. I really can't believe July is almost over and August is just around the corner! This year is just disappearing! I mean its almost christmas, okay I'm kidding but the year is disappearing. Any whoo... Here is my view on the ever so popular take the day off balm..

CLINIQUE TAKE THE DAY OFF BALM
I have read so many reviews on this cleansing balm, all good reviews might I add, however I never had the intention of picking it up, but then I was shopping with my sister and she got talking to a friend of hers who worked on the Clinique stand. As my sister baffled on for 10 or so minutes, I found myself eyeing up this balm. However I resisted, I turned away and walked towards the exit and then as I was about to leave the shop I ran back in and purchased it. That my friend is what you call compulsive shopping. I try to not compulsive shop to often, but on this occasion I'm glad I did.

This Balm retails at £22.00 which is a little more on the expensive side, but I would say skincare is worth it and also I've splurged on products much more expensive that did nothing for my skin. Also a little bit of this cleansing balm really does go a long way, I take a little bit onto my fingertips and massage it over my skin, I will then use a muslin cloth and rinse it off with warm water. You can literally see your make up melting off.

The formula is really nice it's light weight, it is non-drying and non greasy so I can imagine it works well for many skin types. I also love it for lazy days I will just smother some of the balm over my skin and then jump in the shower and let the water wash away the remaining balm. I have heard many people say it works well for removing all makeup even there water proof mascara,  I'm not sure I completely agree with this, I tried using the balm to remove my eye makeup and yes it does remove it but if your eyes are sensitive like mine, I wouldn't recommend it. I found it uncomfortable on my eyes and stung slightly, I also felt like once I washed it off there was like a blurry film over my eyes. But I have heard so many people say it is perfectly fine on there eyes so maybe give it a go? If your eyes are more sensitive like mine you could just try using Bioderma to remove your eye makeup or Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, both work wonders for removing eye makeup effectively.

Overall I love this cleanser, it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight and it doesn't irritate the dry patches on my face so although I cant use it to remove eye makeup I give this product ***** 5 stars out of 5. I have really sensitive eyes so I don't think I will ever find something that doesn't irritate my eyes.

REVIEW: BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX SERUM FOUNDATION& HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION

REVIEW: BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX SERUM FOUNDATION & HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation:
I've been using this foundation on and off for the past year and I feel I can give a thorough review on this foundation. You see during my pregnancy, my skin defiantly had its ups and downs. From dry and spotty to oily and then glowy. I guess you could say my skin has a mind of it's own but for the most part my skin is dry, very dry.

Product Description:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is enriched with a fruit therapy formula to enhance your collection.
•Apricot for radiance
•Melon for hydration
•Apple to protect your youth.
it is also enriched with crystalline pigments to even out the complexion while still letting in natural light, for a healthy glow.

My opinion:
Whenever I'm on the hunt for a new foundation I always look for something hydrating, brightening and glowy. This foundation feels light and hydrating on my skin. It also offers medium coverage, which is buildable. I must admit when my skin was having breakouts this didn't quite cut it alone. I would have to do two thin layers of this foundation and add concelear for blemishes. However I find that with most foundations and I'm more than happy to use a concealer to cover up any stubborn blemishes.

I love the finish this foundation gives, it gives you a glow from within. It is very natural looking. When my skin is suffering from dry patches the foundation may cling slightly to the dryer spots, however it isn't as noticeable as other foundations. For the most part I love the formula, scent and feel of this foundation. I enjoy using it and usually pick this foundation over any other foundation in my makeup draw. It's really good value for money while being a very high quality product. The only let down for me is that the palest shade is to dark for me. This usually is the biggest problem I have when it comes to buying a foundation, especially from a drugstore. I would defiantly say if your skin is very pale or anything past an olive tone you may struggle to find this foundation to match your skin. However for me I haven't found a foundation I enjoy using this much in a long time. So although I usually have to apply the foundation down my neck to blend it all together abit, I don't actually mind it all that much. If they could just create a paler version of this foundation I'd be chuffed! However The Body Shop have brought out some Shade Adjusting Drops, which I may just give a go.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation:
Since I enjoyed using the Healthy Mix Foundation so much I figure I would try the Healthy Mix Serum Foundation as my skin is pretty dry, I figured the formula would be similar but just a dewy, slightly more hydrating version, and it is. The foundations are very similar. The Serum foundation has slightly lighter coverage and is a thinner consistency. I have purchased both these foundations in the shade Light Vanilla and I do think the Serum Foundation has more of a yellow tone to it, however it is such a tiny difference you wouldn't notice it unless they was both applied next to each other. Both foundations claim to last 16 hours, but I can't remember the last time I even kept foundation on for that long. The foundations both last well but I do find the serum foundation does wear ever slightly quicker. Overall I am a fan of this foundation as they are both very similar, however I think I prefer the Healthy Mix Foundation slightly more, as it lasts longer and gives me a little bit more coverage, whilst still keeping my skin hydrated, dewy and luminous. If your skin is good and you like a light weight foundation the Healthy Mix Serum Foundation would work wonders.

Both foundation cost about £10.00 and are usually in a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. I think both foundations are such good quality for the price and would really recommend trying them! If there are any foundation you think I should try or would like a review on let me know in the comments! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

REVIEW: BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

Aloha, Happy July.
I've been on the hunt for a bronzer for the past year or so. When your as pale as I am picking a bronzer is a tricky task, unfortunately you run the risk of looking like an umpa lumpa or just dirty and lets face it neither are appealing. However for the past 2-3 weeks I've been testing out Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. Heres my verdict.

PRICE:
Benefit Hoola retails at £23:50, which isn't the most expensive but its also not the cheapest. I think £23.50 for a bronzer can be justifiable if the bronzer is good quality. Because lets face it bronzer feels like it lasts a lifetime.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
"Dust this award-winning bronzing powder over your chin, cheeks and forehead for a healthy, natural-looking "tan" year-round. It's pure matte colour...no sparkle or shine! "
It claims to give you a sun kissed glow, also claims to be great for contouring  due to its matte finish.
MY VERDICT:
I think the product speaks for itself. It's an award winning bronzer with thousands of good reviews, and I must admit it works well with my skin. It comes with a soft bristle brush, which I don't tend to use because I find the product applies heavily and unevenly with the brush provided. However if you want to create a strong contour line you can easily create that by applying the brush directly on your cheek bone, but you will still need another brush to help blend out the line, to soften the contour. If I'm using the bronzer to bronze my face I like to apply it using the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contour Brush and then blend it out using the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush. However the Mac 168 Angled Contour Brush is a great brush for contouring your face it's definitely a brush I'd recommend if your just getting into contouring. The Hoola Bronzer blends easily and can work well with many skin tones, I personally need the tiniest bit to completely bronze my face. The bronzer is definitely build-able if you want a deeper, darker or more pronounced contour. I still find this bronzer has a slight orange tone but I can only notice it when I'm at my palest and yet it is still very easy to blend out and still provides a natural warm glow. I can wear my makeup for up to 10 hours a day and still find that the bronzer has lasted well without looking patchy or unpresentable. There is only two things I'm not keen on when it comes to this bronzer. One is the packaging, although it looks beautiful, its not practicable, it gets messy easily and the box can start to get tatty very easily, which isn't the end of the world but if your like me and like your makeup looking clean and tidy this just makes it look a little messy. The second thing I don't particular like is for how big the box is you get very little product, it is unnecessary and inconvenient for your makeup bag (lets face it we need to save as much room in our makeup bag for our essentials). However I do feel Benefit redeemed themselves as they now do the mini version of this bronzer, which is definitely a much more compact idea. Overall I really enjoy using this product and would repurchase it.
RATING:
So I've decide I'm going to start rating products out of 5 stars being very good quality and 1 star meaning the product did not work as well for me. So I would rate Hoola Bronzer **** 4 stars out of 5, the only thing that lets it down is that the packaging ends up looks quite tatty but other than that the product works great with my skin.
